I have to go back to work tomorrow.
I should be cleaning up the house, particularly those apple juice stains on my ottoman.
I should be tackling the laundry and wrestling it into submission.
I should be preparing lunch for tomorrow, so I don't feel tempted to hit the local BBQ joint for turkey tacos.
I should be organizing what we will all need to have tomorrow morning as we leave the house bleary-eyed and sullen.
To all those 'shoulds', I say "Bah."
I am planted in my favorite chair, in my jammies, for as long as I can stand it, or whenever the cat sleeping on my lap decides to move.
I hope that all of you will join me in being lazy for a couple of hours on this first day of 2012. We all need to rest up for the big, and small, events that will come our way this new year.
I've got your back---I didn't shower until 1:00 today. Then I decided I couldn't even manage fixing dinner (when the crockpot of pulled pork wasn't pullable in time), so take out pizza it was...but we still have tomorrow off, so I wonder what level of underachievement I can muster for then!
ReplyDeleteJoin you in laziness? Why, certainly!! I can think of no better way to welcome the New Year ... and I haven't got much option downunder as we've had the hottest NY day in 100+ years!! 42 degrees C!! (WELL over 100 F ...)
ReplyDeleteToday (Jan. 2nd) is my last day off. I am really dreading Jan 3rd. I have a feeling it is going to be SUPER busy and the year is going to fly right by again.
