It was time for my radiation treatment,
3:30, right on time, just like every weekday,
found me face up on a table
purple marker drawings all over my left side.
The X-Ray machine was circling,
targeting any lurking cancer cells,
when it stopped.
A familiar beeping sound echoed in the room.
As I lay there, eyes closed, and listened,
I realized that the sound I was hearing
was the same beeping sound our microwave makes
when what is cooking is done.
