An Open Closet

No light can penetrate

that gaping maw.

The Blackness is hungry,

tendrils of shadow

spilling beyond

extending, reaching.

Once I am caught,

there will be no reprieve;

Only the midnight

swallowing my screams.





33 word explanation about what scares you  Yes, it's true.  I am scared of open closets.  No, that's not quite true.  I am scared of what is IN the darkness of the open closet.  Thank you Stephen King!

    I don't recommend telling the kids this tale to keep closet and cabinet doors closed but it would be tempting some mornings when you come in the kitchen. Good job.

    This is my older son. He absolutely will not go to sleep unless his closet door is closed all the way. (I've opened it a crack on occasion just to see...he finds it every time :))

    I never close any doors in our house, never have since I was a little girl. Yes, a closed closet or door scares me quite a bit, I want to know what I'm dealing with.
